Pats No. 2 in ESPN.com power rankings
ESPN.com has unveiled its offseason NFL power rankings, and the Patriots come in at No. 2 behind the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Of the 12 voters, the Patriots received nine second-place votes, one first-place vote, one third-place vote, and one sixth-place vote.
The No. 2 standing represents a seven-spot jump from the end of the 2008 season ESPN.com power rankings.

That and $1.39 will get you a small cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts. And they figure these rankings out how?
I like the Patriots
I'd take number 2. They just won the SB, so you gotta beat the champ to be number 1. Maybe they'll prove it.
Pittsburgh is overrated. If the Pats made the playoffs last year, they would have won the Superbowl. Coach Belicheck is great at lessons learned and we all know he is going to stress how important EVERY game is and that we need a win every time. Just to get in the playoffs. Besides, our secondary is looking very tough lately. Last time we won with practice squad players against Peyton Manning. They will be hungry, not much time left for many of them.
$1.39 for a small cup??? where???
I pay $1.84 + tax for a small DD coffee!!!
I think they use trained chimps to create the rankings...not sure about the trained part though.
Some real sage commentary from Tim Graham:
"Until further notice, a team coached by Bill Belichick and quarterbacked by Tom Brady is a legitimate Super Bowl contender."
Maybe comment on the defensive upgrades, or how Welker and moss have had 2 seasons in the playbook now? What a hack.
How does a team who didn't even make the playoffs and is a wild card at best this year ranked 2nd ?I can't wait to see what everyone will be saying when brady and that knee have a big helping of turf pie every sunday .
