  1. Having ties with the Navy, how are the rookies from the Naval Academy performing? Any signs of promise?

  1. Hey Sean, I feel where you are coming from but this is how the business works in their line of work. Contracts are as good as tiolet paper in the NFL and if you follow the NFL you now that much. Their jobs arent like yours, sorry. In overall concept of going to work maybe, but thats where it stops for most fans. When the last time you had to call your agent?

  1. I guess I'm an old school coach Mike but what ever happened to honoring your contract and keeping your yap shut and let your representative do the negotiating for you? Why do athletes feel that the public has to be involved in this decesion making process? In my opinion what you do when people are not looking is far more important that running you mouth about a new contract you may or may not get! Tell Vince to keep doing on the field what he has always doing and let the brain trust do what they do, players play and braintrust plot the future of the TEAM not the individual, sorry Vince but grow up and shut up, you are tarnishing a great life witha great organization. All a man has is the integrity of his work!

  1. when defending the wildcat offense, why do teams never tackle or hammer the QB (like Pennington for the dolphins last year) when he lines out at Wide out? Its a running play and if a corner lined up the QB, this could be the end of the wildcat?

  1. Is anyone else tired of the Tom and Gisele Show? In his recent column on ESPN.com, Gene Wojciechowski specifically mentioned Tom and Gisele as one of "50 Things in Sports We Can Do Without." (I hasten to add that we would like to keep Tom, the Consummate QB.)

  1. Robert,
Wrong. It most sports yes, but not football. The players can be cut at any time, so they have ever right to hold out... The owners and GM don't have to honor the contact, so why should the players... It can all end in one play, so get what you can while you last.

  1. Hello Patriots fans, Let me give an outside opinion on Patriot needs. I am a Diehard Steelers fan and have much respect for Pats organization. It is clear that Cornerback position has been addressed...I am a Patrick Chung fan and believe he will help out in nickel situation for this year. The Patriots need OLB's....Thomas is in his 30's and Crable is unproven. Vrabel leadership will be missed.

  1. I understand where Wilfork is coming from, in the sense that if he gets hurt in the voluntary camp, and his career is over, that's it. As we've seen with McKenzie, there's definately a possibility that it could happen. He needs to do what he can to ensure his future financial stability. At the same time, if he holds out, I hope the Pats fine him to the fullest, recover whatever portion of the signing bonus they can, and don't give him any guarantees not to franchise him. Then, if the end of the year rolls around and a deal isn't worked out, franchise him. It may take two to tango, but two can also play hardball.

  1. marzxty,
Do you know what I'm tired off? Hearing or reading people bitch about them. Go live your own life and don't worry about it.. Why do you care??? Seriously

  1. Norbert,
I believe your question was put to either BB or a defensive captain last year.
I don't recall the exact answer, but NFL QB's are routinely hammered, often when most vulnerable during a throw.
So I don't see how a CB could do any more damage to a QB on the line of scrimmage than a DL or LB could inflict on a typical pass rush.
The more I think about it the Patriot's answer included something along the lines of "each defender in coverage has a job to do, no more - no less".
I also suspect you don't want to provide the opposition with any more motivation by singling out the opposing QB for punishment above and beyond. Refs are watching, too.

  1. Mike,
Missed the chat but really liked this response:
"I didn't pick Kaczur as a lock because of his $2m plus cap charge. While I think he will make it, would I be shocked if he is part of a trade or not with the club at the start of the season? No."

This guy just isn't up to snuff for our Oline and could cost us HUGE with his subpar play.

May the football gods hear my pleas and send this guy anywhere else (or better yet to the Jets so we can crush Mark Sanchez from day 1).

  1. Given your comment about Hanson not being happy about you forgetting him in the roster "locks" list, does that mean players have told you that they read your blog?

Regarding your comment that you would ask the Krafts about individual tickets, how often do you have a chance to talk to them?

I think Edelman and Slater will find their way onto the roster.

  1. If we don't sign Wilfork, this team defense could be in serious difficulty. Facts are facts. As for Brady/Giselle, it is as sickening as Romo/Simpson. Give it a break. None of us give a ___, or at least shouldn't. Let's focus on football.

  1. I met Patrick Pass the day after the Super Bowl victory over the Rams in New Orleans. He was a complete gentleman. Not sure if he has anything left to offer but I will be cheering for him.

  1. I Think Vince is a Great player but he has 1 more yr on the contract Right now he should be working out w/ the team He is still on the team/ Vince needs to stop acting like a SPOILED BRAT. AND get off his BUTT and get on the field

  1. Is BB getting bored? It seems like he loves to draft (or invite to camp) projects. Vollmer, wrestlers, Navy players, players with famous dads like Slater...Edelman? Slater looked like a charity case many times last year. Vollmer was taken at least 2 rounds ahead of all predictions, I think it's because he loved him as a project and didn't care about the price on that one. I think he'll end up a player too by the way, but being picked so high is interesting. It's like " I can make a football player out of anything". These players can make his teams because of the overall "team" philosophy. Meaning no stars (well...3 or 4 maybe) but smart capable players asked to do just their own job. It's starting to look like a real game within a game with BB. Maybe this will be what he'll like to talk about most in his golden years.
