Reading the Rodney tea leaves

FOXBOROUGH -- NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol will make NFL talent announcements on a media conference call Wednesday at noon.

Could Rodney Harrison be joining NBC's team?

Patriots safety James Sanders, one of Harrison's closest friends, said he won't believe that Harrison isn't playing until he announces it himself. But if Harrison chooses TV, Sanders believes it's a natural fit.

"He's born for the camera -- he speaks well, he looks [good]," Sanders said after today's organized team activity. "Sometimes he says things that people don't want to hear but at the same time, I know you guys love interviewing him."

Linebacker Tedy Bruschi commented on what Harrison has meant to the Patriots (2003-08).

"I think he should forever be known as a winner, because he helped us win and he was a big reason why we won," Bruschi said. "When we watch film, I think guys can watch him and remember his example and remember 'that's the way we got it done with him.' I think that's the right example to follow, that was the right formula -- the Harrison formula."

Harrison was part of NBC's broadcast team for Super Bowl XLIII, and has expressed an interest in pursuing a broadcasting career. He previously said he would decide on his football future by June 1.

  1. 2nd that #9. My favorite Patriot player ever despite playing only several years. His intensity sometime would get me so amped and proud he wore that uniform. I'll always wear my number 37 jersey while watching or attending a Patriots game.

  1. Thanks for the memories. At least he knows when to go out, unlike Bruschi.

  1. #9 and #10, get a room!!! I'm betting Harrison is playing before the season is over. I think he still has something left.
