BOLTON -- Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi used just two of three potential swings, but -- with a blast of 287 yards -- edged quarterback Tom Brady in the long-drive competition at the Patriots Charity Golf Tournament this morning at The International.

Brady's top drive traveled 281 yards, good for second place. Wide receiver Wes Welker took third at 275 yards.

"I only needed two (swings)," Bruschi boasted as Brady walked off the driving range in the other direction.

Other competitors included: Sammy Morris, Dan Koppen, Wesley Britt, Terrence Wheatley, Chris Hanson, and Stephen Gostkowski.

Bruschi established an early lead and few came close to him. Brady, the final competitor of the day, put in three quality swings, but couldn't surpass the linebacker.

  1. It says a lot about what TB means to this team that I was watching his knees, rather than his swing!!! Didn't seem to be any problem there though!
