HI Mike: do you foresee any of the rookies having a tough time trying to pass coach BB'sphysical abilities test in order to get on the practice field, or any of the vets for that matter?
Howdy Mike...with roster cuts coming soon by all teams, do you see any bubble guys on other teams that the Patriots might be interested in....I know the Pats have got some tuff choices to make as it is, but filling any percieved voids is always important.....
Also, I hope the Patriots figure out a way to keep BJGE in the ranks somehow, with Taylor & Morris getting up there & being fairly injury prone (along with Maroney), I believe his youth & tough north/south running style will be handy down the road...I'd rather see them keep 3 TE's then lose him....your thoughts on how the Pats keep him???
Everyone is not this last draft class, I am not I see 5 diamonds in the rough. Vollmer, Bussey, Brace, McKenzie, Tate. Drafts like this make teams champions. I see more teams loading up on 2nd round picks. Saving money and grabbing talent. BB is starting a new trend.
Why is it the Pat's seem to just give up on Rosie Colvin. The whole time he was with the team; while healthy he was an impact player. And he's still younger than the core of starting linebackers they have now.
What is the word on Tully Banta Cain ? Can he be a force on the edge
Mike,
Funny someone asked about the game in MN back in 06. I was at that game and someone asked me how to describe. As a lifeling Vikes fan, having a place for the Pats in my heart, I described it as "a lesson." I believe Brady used 11 or 12 different receivers that game?!!!!
The Patriots currently have 86 players on the active roster. With 2 healthy draft picks yet to sign (Chung and Ingram) the number could climb to 88. Roster restrictions limits all teams to just 80 active players for the start of training camp. PUP is not an option for hiding a few players in camp because in training camp PUP is actually APUP (Active Physically Unable to Preform). So might WR Brandon Tate find himself on the IR? If he makes it to camp is that an indication that the coaches feel he may be able to help at some point later in the year, assuming he starts the year on the PUP...Will the Patriots enter camp with both Long Snappers?...
Wow, the spelling is just terrible in some of these chats.
I agree on those who said Meriweather. I think it's an interesting topic, one that's difficult to gauge. I just see Meriweather essentially having a grey shirt year as a rookie and then coming out with much more confidence last season. He's not even a true strong safety so I think he could have some major value if Chung can become to mid range secondary player they're hoping.
I also don't think you can count out Maroney simply because he's really only played two seasons and expectations got too high after his game against the Bengals. Both of these players, with depth behind them, are in a position to really make a leap.
Hey mike, was curious, currently what former player counts the most as dead weight against the salary cap & how much is it this year.....
