  1. Despite having signed 9 of their draft choices very quickly, this might be a
year the Patriots have a couple of holdouts. There are no high #2 draft
picks signed as yet and this affects Chung. Pittsburgh's signing of Hood
should help the situation a little. Jake Ingram has supposedly been asked
to take part of his signing bonus in 2010. How many #6 picks are going
to be around to collect a 2010 bonus? The Patriots will probably take their
time signing McKenzie. As soon as McKenzie is signed, he can be put on
IR to open a roster spot.

  1. Mike,

Will the draft picks that have not signed a contract yet be showing up today?

  1. Not sure what Ingram is doing or Chung for that matter. Both are in a fight for playing time and in Ingram's case maybe a roster spot. There is a lot of competition on this team.

  1. If Chung were smart he would come to camp on time. I remember Watson holding out and he never really recovered. The competition is pretty high and a leg down will severly hurt his chances from making an impact. Don't get greedy Chung.

p.s. the Pats rarely blink, just ask watson.

  1. Chung or his agent or both need to wise up. Cant imagine BB is too impressed....hopefully Chung will realise hes not all that, and signs up and starts learning his job asap.

  1. This has less to do with Chung being greedy, and more to do with his agents positioning for 2010. If you don't think the looming expiration of the CBA is affecting things right now, you need to think again.

  1. Mike,

IMO Watson's agent really ruined him his rookie year and to some extent his entrire career by having him hold out his rookie camp. Watson changed agents and they got it done. I know agents are a dime of dozen but I was just curious if Chung has the same agent that Watson had when he held out of camp.

  1. I think the main issue w/Chung not being signed is probably the fact that Hood is the only player signed between picks 22-39, slotting has to be the issue. I do feel that he will be signed by Wednesday.

As far as Chung the player goes, I'm really excited to see what he can do in camp because I feel like he can be a difference maker for the Pats D this season.

  1. I am somewhat confused by the fact that late round picks have FOUR YEAR deals. Can you explain why that is for late round picks that, for the most part, only have an outside chance at making the team?
