Season's greetings
Over the last few weeks, Patriots season ticket holders have received their pack of tickets along with a welcome-back message from owner Robert Kraft and president Jonathan Kraft.
For many season ticket holders, it's one of the days of the year to look forward to, reminding them that football is right around the corner.
The tickets arrived with a Boston Patriots bumper sticker and a "50 Seasons" pin for each ticket holder. Three players from different eras are on each ticket, along with a Verizon advertisement urging ticket-holders to play text-based "Patriots trivia".
In their welcome-back letter, Robert and Jonathan Kraft wrote:
The past nine months have been tumultuous for many of our season ticket holders, and not just because of the record number of injuries the Patriots suffered during the 2008 campaign. The recent recession and the impact on the global economy caused many to review and re-prioritize their discretionary spending. Knowing that nearly 95 percent renewed their accounts again this year proves, once again, how important the Patriots are to our season ticket holders. Never has your loyalty been more appreciated. ...
The letter noted that Aug. 20, prior to the 2009 preseason opener, the team will have its Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Jim Nance.

I had to sell my house in the Cape to do so but my kids wouldn't let me cancel my tickets. I'm still fed up with Kraft acting like he was a common fan and then charges the ludicrous amount he does for tickets.
I would have thought they would just induct Jim Nance at one of the regular season games when he and Phil Simms are doing the game.
Its a different guy
With luck I will have a pair of season tickets in time for my 80th birthday
a few years from now.
Sorry Dejected.
But I wish I had your problems (choosing between my Cape house and my Pats season tickets. Decisions, decisions.)
I have a feeling you got to that position by making some pretty sound business moves, and making a profit to stay competitive.
Still, it does suck that you had to sacrifice. Hopefully this season is worth it.
You've left at least two championships on the table the past few years. At least two. And no one got their butt kicked for screwing up, like girlfriends, lawsuits, distractions, not to mention one of the worst public relations management disasters in recent history with spygate (there was a proper way for the team and league to manage that and you blew it; your franchise took a big hit and the NFL took a big hit and neither had to.)
You still owe me 19-0 and a big gag for that clown in Miami. And if I don't see it SOON you will be getting all these tickets back...
The Pats are coasting on their sucess from YEARS ago, and it starts at the top. These tickets and the whole 'game-day experience' are too expensive for coasting!
When you have a HOF coach and HOF quarterback at the peak of their careers, you have a twice-a-century chance to make history. YOU NEED TO GO FOR IT.
Superbowl will not be enough. I want 19-0. Anything less is not acceptable.
The Cape house was an inheritance but I understand the insinuation. If I were a stronger man, I would get rid of them in a second. Unfortunately (and fortunately) the past 30 + years of having season tickets has become a family event and is too special to me.
