Posted by Christopher L. Gasper, Globe Staff August 25, 2009 01:59 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- Linebacker Paris Lenon and rookie quarterback Brian Hoyer were both present for the media portion of practice today. The practice was being conducted in full pads and media members were present for stretching and the start of positional drills and instruction.

Lenon has yet to play in an exhibition game for the Patriots and had not practiced since Aug. 9 due to an undisclosed injury. Patriots coach Bill Belichick indicated that Hoyer was dinged up on the Patriots' penultimate drive against Cincinnati last Thursday. Hoyer had not practiced yet this week.

In all 12 players were absent from the session, not counting rookie linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, who has an ACL injury and is not yet under contract with the team, and offensive lineman Russ Hochstein, who has been traded to the Denver Broncos.

Here are the missing players:

WR Julian Edelman
LB/S Tank Williams
CB Shawn Springs
RB Kevin Faulk
RB Sammy Morris
S/WR Ray Ventrone
WR Wes Welker
DL Myron Pryor
DL Ron Brace
LB Shawn Crable
OL Mark LeVoir (physically unable to perform list)
WR Brandon Tate (non-football injury list)
