Monday schedule

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff August 24, 2009 06:30 AM

The Patriots are settling into more of a regular-season type routine, with their practices no longer open to the public. Here is today's media schedule:

  • 10:50 a.m. -- Bill Belichick press conference
  • 11:10-11:55 a.m. -- Media access to locker room
  • 1:15 p.m. -- Media access to practice (up to team drills)

Players had been off Saturday before returning to work Sunday. The coaching staff worked Saturday, recapping the Bengals game and looking at big-picture issues from all of the team's training camp practices and meetings.

"[We’re] kind of trying to look at things going forward with our football team and start getting ready for Washington [Friday night]," coach Bill Belichick said Sunday. "So we have a lot of balls in the air here. We know the opener is a couple weeks away, too. So [there are] a lot of balls in the air, trying to balance everything with our team, our practices, preparation for the Redskins, certainly with an eye on the opening part of the season.

"I think this, again, is another important week for us in our development as a team on all the different fronts. It’s a little bit of a longer week. We have an extra day so hopefully we can take advantage of that and keep moving forward as a football team."
