Ochocinco: Brady says he's fine

Posted by Chris Forsberg, Boston.com Staff August 29, 2009 12:53 AM

For what it's worth, Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco sent a Tweet from his iPhone following tonight's Patriots-Redskins game with a potential update on quarterback Tom Brady:

Just got a call back from Tom Brady, says he's fine and there's nothing to worry about.

Here's a screenshot of the posting as well...

  1. Mr 85 - sitting around the house on a Friday night - nothing going on - watching a little football. Saw the hit, thought he would stir the pot a bit...
Always amusing - cant help but like the guy - he makes football fun.

TB will be fine - Haynesworth hit was clean -

  1. Yeah, OK. I'm sure TB would report to ocho shitto that everything is good. "Hey buddy, yeah no problem man, my shoulder is fine".

  1. Clean? Are you kidding?
The Ball was cleanly already gone.
    That was "roughing the passer"
by the modern day standards of the game.
    It was a CHEAP SHOT.

  1. Mike,

Is this nonsense really worth posting? I used to like reading your stuff because it was clear, concise, and somewhat aggregated (hardly any frivolous post and some of the shorter stuff combined).

Now, your posting 3 sentence posts like this is tweeter, and some of the time the content isn't worth the trouble of the post or clicking on the link to read it, see above as reference.

    You're better than this.

  1. If true Chad's the man for giving the info we all want that we NEVER get from the team. But also I think it's against the rules for Brady to call/ twitter during a game.

  1. @UH, Chad was not playing in a game, so he can tweet any time he wants. However, as it happens he posted his tweet at midnight, well after the game.

  1. One thing I have never understood about twitter, is how do we know that that is actually Chad 85 and not some random dude on his computer in Idaho? Didn't someone pose as Big Baby on twitter and everyone reported like it was him posting?

  1. @Steve, I think it's certainly news when a friend of Tom Brady says Brady told him he's ok. I do agree with the #3 commenter that Brady might understate any problems he has, but reporting what we know makes sense to me.

  1. Steve, maybe Mike's been too busy with the Pats to see that
TV commercial with the kids telling their dad not to Tweet every little
detail of where he is, what he's doing, etc.? ("I'm sitting on the patio.
Yeah dad, I know you're sitting on the patio.")

  1. Dan, there have been fake Tweeters out there. Chad has been very open that he does Tweet and publicized his real Twitter name. In this case we can feel safe this is Chad Ochocinco.

  1. steve, read before you write. Chris Forsberg posted that one...

  1. he hurt his shoulder last year. he has admitted to wanting to play with new england because of belichick and brady. they know each other from pro bowls. is it so crazy for him to be watching, see the hit, text tom later and ask if he is ok, considering he had the same thing happen last year, and brady responded innocently saying he was fine? this is probably true, it wouldnt surprise me at all.

  1. gopats,

I take for granted that it's Mike writing in as it's a blog named after him. My bad in this case, but the overall point is still valid. It's nonsense.

  1. Nonsense? It's probably the biggest news available regarding Brady's shoulder. We know we're not going to get anything reliable out of the team. In this case, Chad is the "source close to Brady".

  1. Steve, you're a douche. Once Reiss is gone, there will be no one in NE worth reading.

  1. I agree with MarkZ. Steve, lighten up, man.

  1. MarkZ, tim, MikeWF - The nonsense is reporting about chad ochocinco twitter, which is obviously false information (aka chad screwing around).

tim - talking tough online doesn't make you tough so you can anonymously sit behind your computer and type that crap if it makes you feel tough. We both know you wouldn't say it to anyones face for fear of getting your ass kicked.

  1. Steve, you must be a blast to hang around with. Condescending, oversensitive, unappreciative complainer. Oh, and a tough guy apparently. Let's get together and go bowling sometime. Douche.

  1. Jaybo, glad you can comprehend what you read. Schools starts tomorrow, should get some rest before you return.

  1. This cracked me up. If you can't laugh at the absurdity of the media on constant TB worry watch, you need to lighten up.

I'd love to see Ochocinco playing for the Pats.

    This also is funny:
