The Patriots have shaken up their quarterback depth chart tonight, releasing third-year veteran Matt Gutierrez, according to a league source.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Gutierrez had been with the team since 2007, when he made the club as a surprising rookie free agent. Gutierrez was released by the Patriots at the end of 2008 training camp, but returned to the club after the first week of the season, following Tom Brady's injury.
The move with Gutierrez could lead to another move with a veteran.
The Patriots worked out Cleo Lemon last Friday, and have also explored the possibility of signing Andrew Walter.
