ESPN's "Outside the Lines" featured a piece on former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels this morning, with Ed Werder reporting.
There were some Patriots connections in the piece, including comments from Bill Belichick.
Belichick on McDaniels: "Josh is smart and he's one of those people that can handle a lot of tasks at once. You can give him 10 things to do and he seems like he's right on top of all of them and you throw a couple more on there and it just doesn't faze him."
McDaniels on Belichick: "I was fortunate that he believed in me and he gave me a great deal of confidence and really moved me forward and challenged me more and more every single year that I was there."
Belichick on the 2008 offense under McDaniels: "We were a different offensive team than we were in '07 but I think we ended up being a good offensive football team. We were probably a little bit more balanced and a lot of that's due to Josh adjusting our offensive scheme and tempo to a different group of players."
McDaniels on Belichick's philosophy of dealing with adversity: "Bill had really instilled in us, 'Hey, there's going to be a lot of adversity and you have to have versatility whether it's a coach or a player and sometimes things aren't going to be in your favor but your job description doesn't change. Find a way to win. Period.'"
