Seymour among injured players to return

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff August 9, 2009 06:16 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots have concluded their full-pads afternoon practice (3:45 p.m.) and it was marked by the return of several injured players, including defensive lineman Richard Seymour.

In addition to Seymour, defensive end Ty Warren and outside linebacker Shawn Crable were activated off the physically unable to perform list, practicing for the first time in training camp.

Rookie defensive lineman Myron Pryor, offensive lineman Ryan O'Callaghan and veteran outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain were also back on the field, as was cornerback Jonathan Wilhite (without the red, non-contact jersey he wore in the last full-pads practice).

On the flip side, linebacker Paris Lenon left the practice about halfway through, with trainer Jim Whalen. It was unclear what was wrong with Lenon, as he walked off under his own power.

Derrick Burgess was in attendance and practiced for the first time, mostly working with the team's outside linebackers. He spoke with media members after the session.

More to come.

  1. Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, Shawn Crable, etc. I treat them all the same now....I'll believe it when I actually see it myself. Good to hear Seymour and Warren are back.

  1. Glad to see Crable back! Even with Burgess on board I think we need Crable and other new players at LB develop.

  1. How much time does Seymore spend on IR each year? Seams like a lot?

  1. If he is put on IR that means the season is over, so to answer your question....never.
