Belichick and DeOssie

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 3, 2009 10:43 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick seldom sticks around the field after games, but he lingered a bit after tonight's preseason finale against the Giants.

His goal: To catch up with Giants long snapper Zak DeOssie.

Belichick sought out DeOssie and the two shared an embrace. DeOssie is a former Patriots ballboy.

Neat moment at the end of the game.

"He's a good family friend, so it was good to see him," DeOssie said in the Giants' locker room after the game. "We try to keep in touch whenever possible, and have crossed many times the last couple years. It's always good to hear from him, and see him."

  1. I'd like to see a story on Joe Bellino, from Winchester, Heisman trophy winner. Had a 98 yd run for a score from scrimmage, right. Why is it all we hear about is goofballs with dreadlocks and low IQ's doing stupidly things on and off the field and not about Joe Bellino?

Give us a little update on Joe...ok.

  1. So Biggie, dreadlocks and low IQs go together? Hope you don't hang out in Roxbury often...or, really, I hope you don't go out in public with that racist attitude.

  1. More to the point biggie, Zak is a clean cut man with a Brown education... hardly dreadlocks and a low IQ.
