  • 25 years old.

  • Playing under his rookie contract, which expires after the 2009 season, he is due to make $460,000.

  • Hasn't missed a regular-season game over two seasons (11 starts) and has eight catches for 54 yards.

    1. Interesting. Wonder if this guy could fill Hochstein's goal line FB role.

    1. Sounds to me like they are happy with Baker as the pass catching threat at TE and wanted to solidfy the run-blocking aspect of the TE position....reminds of Fauria and Graham in that regard. What do you think, Mike?

    1. From what I've heard, this guy is a superb blocker. Big dude. You have to figure that Dave Thomas was more of a receiving tight end than a blocker, and doesn't have the speed Watson does to stretch defenses. Watson is also an underrated blocker. Therefore, Thomas is the odd man out. There isn't really a need to have three receiving tight ends.

I guess we'll see how much of an impact he can make on special teams and goal line formations. Maybe even an option as a fullback.

    1. This looks good. I guess he contributed to the Gi-aint's rushing attack last year. In Bill I trust.

    1. I like it. Great size, may end up in the Kyle Brady mold.... Strong blocking and may surprise by catching a few. Shows we have a strong commitment to the running game. We have plenty of passing targets and Baker and Watson are going to be enough at the TE spot for receiving.

    1. Lav- You're an idiot. Go cheer for the Chiefs.

Thomas hasn't done a thing, except get hurt, since he was drafted.

    1. Does anyone know if this guy can run?....if he plays fullback, could we see the next incarnation of Brandon Jacobs?...6'4", 270...that is big.

    1. Blocking tight ends, especially good ones, are a rare commodity in the NFL and when you can acquire one it's worth the price, especially at 25 years old...
