Practice report
FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are practicing on the lower field behind Gillette Stadium today as they continue preparations for the season-opener on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills.
The team was breaking in the throwback "Pat Patriot" helmets and game pants with the offense wearing red practice jerseys with no numbers and the defense wearing white jerseys.
That's an indication that coach Bill Belichick views no bit of preparation or simulation as too insignificant, as in practice he tried to duplicate the look that Patriots' offensive players will see on Monday night as both teams wear throwbacks as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary season of the AFL.
Among the players not spotted during the media portion of practice which included stretching, positional drills and special teams work were:
S Matthew Slater (left arm)
WR Julian Edelman
CB Terrence Wheatley
OL Rich Ohrnberger
OL Dan Connolly
TE Chris Baker
DL Myron Pryor

Reiss wouldn't make dumb mistakes like this.
What's going on with Edelman? He hasn't been spotted since the Bengals game. Any diagnosis as to what he's dealing with?
So Edelman hasn't practiced since August 23..... are we playing this week with 4 WR, including Aiken? WTF?
Three players on this list really worry me. Edelman, Baker, and Pryor are needed this season. Let's hope they can be at practice tomorrow.
"... as both teams where throwbacks as part ..."
I expect the word is wear.
Should I be scared if I see a starting lineup of Tom Ramsey at QB along with Tony Collins, Stephen Starring and Cedric Jones?

So what's up with our running backs. We have a starter yet? An update on what we know and don't know would be great.
Very happy to see that Welker must be back.
edelman played what, one pre season game and a quarter of the 2nd? Too much hype for a guy who is hurt all of the time. Doubt that he will even suit up for the game. Nunn would have been better.
