Video: Tiger on Tom
In case you didn't spot it in our Golf Blog, Tiger Woods -- in town for this weekend's Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston in Norton -- spent some time talking about his recovery from reconstructive knee surgery and related it to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
"Well, you have to understand that you've done the legwork, you've busted your butt all these months to get to this position, which I know Tom has. He's worked extremely hard. He's taken a few shots and, obviously, I think it's good. He needs the experience."The thing is, about my sport, I can continue to get better as the year goes on. He's going to continue to get hit pretty hard. That's always going to be the case for football players. Hopefully, Tom will continue to get better throughout the season and the line protects him."
Asked if he and Brady now share a special bond, Woods, who grew up a Raiders fan, showed off his sense of humor: "It's not a bond you want. Blowing out ACLs is definitely not a bond you want. But certainly, I've always admired him for what he's done, even though that tuck rule got us."

great one liner about the tuck rule
luv 'em both
Unfortunately Tiger isn't old enough to remember the phantom roughing he passer on Ray Hamilton. The tuck rule just squared the deal.
Not that I live in the past (1976) or hold any grudges....
love em both, also...jay is right, though...the call on sugar bear was an absolute joke
Nor is El Tigre old enough to remember Assain Tatum's hit on the Steamer....
Amen Garret
#5--Darryl Stingley was not nicknamed 'the Steamer'--that was Stanley Morgan...
The Tatum hit was not on Stanley Morgan (i.e Stanley Steamer). It was on Darryl Stingley. I think you jut got the names mixed up. But, point well taken.
Jay you are on the money. I remember that play in 1976 extremely well ...
Not that it has anything to do with the topic, but how about the Spearing that Ben Davidson layed on Len Dawson...........The Oakland Raiders had more than their share of bad karma, throughout the years
Not on Steamer, but on the best receiver we never saw reach full potential, the late Daryl Stingley.
