Taking a step into the 21st century, the all-male Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews is encouraging its members to allow women to finally join. The move, which has been pressed for both politically and socially in recent years, will be discussed by the club in the spring and then is scheduled to be voted on by its members — there are approximately 2,400 — at its fall meeting on Sept. 18.
