Keeping score around New England

Peter Uihlein of Mattapoisett shot 68-74-69-75 -- 286 and finished joint-17th in the annual Azalea Amateur at the Country Club of Charleston (S.C.) Frank Vana Jr. of Boylston was two shots back after rounds of 70-72-76-70 that left him 25th.

Former Hopkinton High standout Keegan Bradley continues to do his family proud. A nephew of World Golf Hall of Famer Pat Bradley, Keegan's career at St. John's has another entry -- rounds of 72-70 to take medalist honors at the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational in Grasonville, Md. Bradley's effort, as well as that of Peabody's George Zolotas (73-70, T-2) helped the Red Storm march to the team victory. Yale finished fourth.

Chelsea Curtis of New Seabury CC shot 76-77 to finish tied for sixth in the Hoya Women's Invitational in Leesburg, Va. Her Georgetown Hoyas took fourth in the team competition. Boston College finished seventh behind Katie Napleton, a junior from Hinsdale, Ill., who shot 84-74 to finish tied for 18th.

* US Kids Golf has organized a series of tournaments for youths 4-12, with seven scheduled for the Boston area. The first one will be held July 5 at Sassamon Trace GC in Natick. For the complete schedule and more information, refer to the website uskidsgolf.com .

The Executive Women's Golf Association, which includes a New England chapter, has put together its 2007 schedule that will lead to the organization's championship. For information, refer to the website ewga.com , which provides a method for e-mails.

Boston University will sponsor a one-day tune-up for the golf season April 21 at Athletic Enhancement Center's sports science department from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Instructors will discuss golf-specific physical therapy assessment, offer tips on the best ways to warm up, and a video swing analysis will be available.
