Juniors
Memorable round
Nick McLaughlin added quite an exclamation point to his semifinal win in the Challenge Cup Spring Match-Play Championship at Newport CC: a hole-in-one. Having secured his victory at the 13th, the players remained on the course, given the allure of Newport, and McLaughlin promptly used a 4-iron to ace the 180-yard 14th. Not that his colleagues did poorly, either, because two of them made birdies and another made par.
