Defending champ in Travelers field

HARTFORD, Conn.—Hunter Mahan, last year's winner of the Travelers Championship, will be back to defend his title.

Tournament organizers said Thursday that Mahan is among the first group of PGA Tour players to commit to this summer's event at TPC River Highlands. The victory was his first on tour.

Others committing are 1997 winner Stewart Cink and former PGA Championship winner David Toms.

The Travelers Championship gets underway the week of June 16.
