Higgins wins again

Joe Cunningham (Brookline GC) was third, three back.

Mike Grigley (Edgewood CC) closed with a 72-139 to win the Cape Cod Senior Open by one shot over Jim Sheerin (Abernaqui) at Hyannis GC. First-round leader Dave Houghton (Captains) followed his 66 with a 76 to finish tied for third with Fran Marello (Plymouth, Conn.) at 142.

Mark Woodward of the host club teamed with Danny Shea of Wollaston GC to shoot 68 and squeeze out a one-stroke win in the Kenerson Cup at Brae Burn CC in West Newton. Richard Fahey and his partner, Duncan Gratton of the Dedham Country & Polo Club, were second, while Jim Duffy and Peter Harrison (Vesper) shot 70 to take third. Fourth place with 71 went to Jerry Missel and his guest, Scott Taylor of Weston GC.

Mark Arter shot 5-over 149 to win the Southcoast Amateur Championship at Allendale CC in North Dartmouth. Richard Medeiros (159) won the division for those with handicaps 7-12, while Vivian Picanisco (178) won the women's division.

Jeff Mucciarone of Westwood shot 70 to roll to victory in a Boston Amateur Golf Society tournament at Franklin Park.
