With the economy still struggling, state unemployment rising, and course closings rumored almost every week, the golf industry, like many others, is hurting. Numbers have been stagnant for nearly two decades, so in a time when recreation dollars are being scrutinized, stabilizing participation in the game, much less expanding it, has rightly become a big concern.
