Nagy nags Kings with trick

Ladislav Nagy scored three goals, leading the host Phoenix Coyotes to a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings last night.

The hat trick was a first for Nagy, a 24-year-old left wing considered the Coyotes' best prospect. Phoenix has looked for a prolific scorer since trading Keith Tkachuk to St. Louis in March 2001.

Nagy, who also had an assist for a career-high four points, was part of the package the Blues sent to the Coyotes in the deal.

Branko Radivojevic and Shane Doan also had goals, and Doan and Daymond Langkow had two assists each, helping the Coyotes snap a three-game losing streak. Tyson Nash added an empty-net goal with 37 seconds left.

Phoenix's Sean Burke made 39 saves, and Roman Cechmanek stopped 17 shots for Los Angeles.

Aaron Miller, Mike Cammalleri, Jon Sim, and Eric Belanger scored for the Kings, and Luc Robitaille became the second left wing with 700 career assists. He passed the puck to Cammalleri, who tied it, 2-2, on the Kings' only successful power play 1:01 into the second.

Canucks 3, Senators 2 -- Markus Naslund scored 4:13 into overtime, lifting Vancouver past host Ottawa.

Naslund got the winner with 46.2 seconds on the clock. The puck went in off Naslund's leg during a scramble.

Vancouver's Dan Cloutier made 31 saves, including a pad stop to rob Zdeno Chara 1:50 into overtime, for his 100th NHL victory. Ottawa defenseman Chris Phillips hit the crossbar with less than a minute left in regulation.

The Canucks won their second straight after ending a five-game road losing streak Tuesday in Montreal.

Maple Leafs 3, Thrashers 1 -- Ed Belfour made 31 saves, allowing only Ilya Kovalchuk's NHL-leading 17th goal in Toronto's victory over host Atlanta.

Kovalchuk scored with 1:26 left, bringing the Thrashers within a goal (2-1), but Owen Nolan scored his second goal of the game 27 seconds later to seal Toronto's third straight win -- matching a season-best streak.

In Toronto's 2-1 win over Vancouver Monday, Belfour passed Glenn Hall for fifth place on the NHL's career victory list.

Avalanche 6, Flames 5 -- In Calgary, Alberta, Derek Morris scored at 2:24 of overtime, helping Colorado snap a two-game losing streak.

Adam Foote, Milan Hejduk, Joe Sakic, Teemu Selanne, and Travis Brigley also scored for the Avalanche, who rallied from 2-1 and 3-2 deficits before blowing leads of 4-3 and 5-4.
