It took a few months, but the Bruins have granted Andy Hilbert his wish.
Hilbert, the Bruins' third pick in 2000, was traded yesterday to the Chicago Blackhawks for a fifth-round pick in next year's draft.
The left winger, an unsigned restricted free agent, requested a move this summer after four years with the organization, most of the time spent with Providence.
Hilbert led the Baby B's in scoring with 79 points in 79 games last season, but had only six points in 38 games with Boston since leaving the University of Michigan to turn pro.
The Michigan native needs to reach a deal by Dec. 1 in order to play in the NHL this season.![]()
