The Flyers advertised that playoff tickets will go on sale Saturday.

They might be worth buying if Philadelphia can avoid a collapse on a four-game road trip that starts tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden

Martin Biron remained perfect against the Islanders this season, stopping 32 shots and helping the Flyers beat New York, 4-1, in Philadelphia last night.

Biron, who improved his career mark to 14-4-1 against the Islanders, beat them for the sixth time this season and could make it 7-0 if he gets the start against them Saturday. The Flyers won their third straight game and snapped a tie with the Bruins to move into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.

"I just like the energy in our game we're starting to play with," said Flyers coach John Stevens.

The Islanders were eliminated from the Eastern Conference playoff race because at least one of the three Northeast Division contenders closest to them will finish with more points, preventing them from finishing eighth.

Vaclav Prospal, Braydon Coburn, and Danny Briere scored power-play goals for the Flyers. Scott Hartnell also scored for the Flyers.

Miroslav Satan spoiled the shutout late in the third with his 15th goal.

With Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro out for the season because of hip surgery, former Bruin Joey MacDonald made his first start of the season and stopped 22 shots.

Blackhawks 4, Blues 3 - Patrick Kane scored 1:09 into overtime after James Wisniewski tied the game in the final minute of regulation and Chicago boosted its playoff hopes with a victory over visiting St. Louis.

With six games left in the regular season, Chicago is four points behind Colorado for the final Western Conference playoff spot.

Kane, who leads NHL rookies with 65 points, scored off a rebound, jamming the puck inside the left post past Hannu Toivonen.

Lee Stempniak's second-period goal ended Nikolai Khabibulin's home shutout streak at 197 minutes 28 seconds.
