NEW YORK — Of the 10 pucks that have slipped through Henrik Lundqvist this series, five came off the sticks of defensemen. The forwards deserve as much credit for those strikes as the D-men who have whipped them off their blades.

Entering Round 2, the Bruins stressed using the points. When they’re clicking, the Rangers are like a five-man amoeba in the defensive zone. They move as one with the intention of cramming shooting lanes and blocking pucks before they reach their goalie.

To pry themselves loose of such smothering, the Bruins had to work the low-high game to loosen the defensive arteries. They’ve been efficient at using the points in all three wins.
