The Bruins gave up four power-play goals in their final game of 2013. Appropriately, the Bruins lost to the Islanders Tuesday night at TD Garden, 5-3.

Just 32 seconds into the third period, John Tavares broke a 3-3 tie with a sharp-angle goal behind Tuukka Rask. Tavares added a power-play goal later in the third.

After a sleepy first period, the game opened up in the second. At 5:56 of the second, with Matt Bartkowski off for holding, Frans Nielsen snapped the puck past Rask for a game-tying power-play goal.

The Bruins pulled ahead with two straight goals. After accepting a feed from Ryan Spooner, Patrice Bergeron ripped a one-timer from the slot past Evgeni Nabokov at 12:33 for a power-play goal.
