UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Chris Kelly got in some extra skating during the Bruins’ optional skate Monday morning, and it looks as though it won’t be long before the forward returns to game action. As coach Claude Julien said, Kelly is “probably a good possibility for the Florida game,” adding that “he’s healed” from the broken fibula he sustained Dec. 7.
That means that after missing 22 games, more than a quarter of the season, Kelly could be back in the lineup Tuesday night at TD Garden.
And while he probably could have played Monday night against the Islanders, Kelly is coping well with the slower timetable on his recovery — the opposite of what he went through last season, when he broke his tibia. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
