Andrej Meszaros giving Bruins options on defense

In Philadelphia, Andrej Meszaros was not a go-to power-play option. Meszaros was behind Kimmo Timonen and Mark Streit, two left-shot quarterbacks, on the depth chart. Meszaros averaged 1:02 of man-up ice time with the Flyers.

Three games into his Black-and-Gold career, Meszaros is logging more than twice that amount.

On Thursday night against Phoenix, Torey Krug was a healthy scratch. Meszaros replaced Krug as the point man on the No. 1 unit and played 1:07 of his 15:33 total on the power play.

In the two previous games, Meszaros replaced Dougie Hamilton as the primary point man on the No. 2 unit.
