Leafs’ Kaberle on Boston’s radar?

MONTREAL - The Toronto Maple Leafs received at least one solid offer for veteran defenseman Tomas Kaberle yesterday, and according to a source familiar with the additional offers Toronto fielded later in the day, the Bruins were among the suitors.
Kaberle, 31, just completed his 10th season with the Leafs, after being selected 204th overall in the 1996 draft.
According to a report on tsn.ca., the Leafs received an offer of a roster player and a draft pick for the Czech-born blue liner.
The Bruins were rumored to be among the bidders for Kaberle’s services at the March 4 trade deadline. But Leafs general manager Brian Burke, noting then that Kaberle had a no-trade clause, did not try to force a move.
Kaberle’s contract, though, allows him to be traded during a specified time in the offseason, provided it follows a season in which the Leafs did not make the playoffs, which is the case here.
Kaberle, a lefthanded shot who would slot into the second defensive pairing and also work the power play, has two years remaining on his contract at $4.25 million per season.
Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli did not respond to an e-mail inquiry as to whether the Bruins were in the hunt for Kaberle.
