Bruins, 3-2 (OT)

With one flick of Glen Murray's stick, the Bruins captured a 3-2 overtime win over Washington. It was Boston's second straight overtime win and fourth consecutive victory, good enough to propel the Bruins over the .500 mark to an 8-7-2 record. All of Boston's wins have been by one goal.

* Two nice plays on the game-winning goal. First, Patrice Bergeron pressed Shaone Morrisonn into the boards, forcing the defenseman to flip an errant clearing pass. Then Murray batted the puck out of the air, giving himself an opportunity to lock and load.

* Dave Lewis was pleased that the club won its fourth straight, but stressed that the streak doesn't mean much right now. "We haven't accomplished anything yet," Lewis said. "We've done nothing."

* Monster game for Brad Stuart, who played 22:35 over 27 shifts. He had a team-high four blocked shots and four hits, including the belt of the evening when he cranked Jakub Klepis in the second period. "Didn't faze him," Lewis said of being a target for the Caps after the blast that left Klepis woozy. "Didn't faze him at all."

* Tim Thomas might have earned yet another start, as he stopped 27 of 29 shots. In the second period, Alexander Ovechkin nailed Thomas under the right arm with a close-range one-timer. "I knew he'd be going for my neck or head," Thomas said. "Didn't expect the armpit."

* Lewis gave the team Sunday off. They host Florida on Monday.
