Stastny in, no Hoggan

NASHVILLE -- After last night's draining victory over Chicago, only five Bruins participated in the morning skate at the Gaylord Entertainment Center: Milan Jurcina, Stanislav Chistov, Petr Tenkrat, Yan Stastny, and starting netminder Hannu Toivonen.

Stastny, a healthy scratch last night, will play tonight against the Predators instead of Jeff Hoggan, who suffered an upper-body injury against Chicago.

* Mark Mowers, who scored his first career shorthanded goal last night, required six stitches to close the wound above his left eye. Mowers was high-sticked by Brent Seabrook late in the third period, putting the Blackhawks down a man for four minutes. "He had a really good game last night," said Dave Lewis. "He was moving well. He's a smart hockey player and a very good skater. He played well."

* Lewis said he called a timeout at 3:57 of the third period last night because he felt it was the right time to do it. Lewis reminded his players that regardless of the score, they still had to play 60 minutes of competitive hockey.

* Andrew Alberts, one of the team's most dangerous hitters, saw a replay of Brad Stuart's leveling of Peter Bondra. "It was one of the biggest hits I've seen this year," Alberts said.

* Expected Boston lineup:

Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Bergeron-Boyes
Mowers-Primeau-Donovan
Tenkrat-Stastny-Chistov

Alberts-Chara
Mara-Stuart
York-Jurcina

Toivonen
