Final rankings

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff April 25, 2007 01:37 PM

The NHL's Central Scouting Bureau released its final rankings of 2007 draft prospects today, with center Kyle Turris landing the No. 1 spot among North American skaters,

Turris didn't perform up to standards in the recent U-18 championships, but during the regular season, the 6-foot-1 center scored 50 goals in 39 games.

One of the players who's risen in the rankings throughout the season is forward James vanRiemsdyk, who played for the National Team Development Program. vanRiemsdyk was the third-highest rated North American skater.

GM Peter Chiarelli didn't think vanRiemsdyk would be available when the Bruins pick at No. 8, but he believed the club will be in position to land a solid player on June 22.
