Hannu Toivonen, who would have been a restricted free agent, has re-signed with the Bruins.

Toivonen will earn $532,000 in 2007-08, the same salary he made this season. However, next year's deal is a one-way contract, meaning he'll make $532,000 whether he's in the NHL or AHL.

"I don't know that it means anything," said Bill Zito, Toivonen's agent, "other than that he can finish the playoffs knowing that he'll be playing in North America next season."

Zito said there was a very real possibility that Toivonen could have played in Finland in 2007-08 had he not re-signed with Boston.
