'Where I wanted to be'

Andrew Alberts said that contract talks between Peter Chiarelli and agent Neil Sheehy started about a week and a half ago.

"It happened pretty quick," said Alberts of the contract. "We started talking right away and got it done. I'm glad it's over and I don't have to worry about it."

Alberts, who would have been a restricted free agent, said Chiarelli liked his physical game, especially during the first half of 2006-07.

Alberts tailed off in the second half, and acknowledged he must work on his consistency during the two years of his new contract.

"Boston is where I wanted to be," said Alberts. "It's nice to know I have a place to be for two years."
