LOS ANGELES -- Manny Fernandez will start his second game of the season tonight against the Kings. Fernandez allowed four goals in the season-opening loss to Dallas.

"We all know that Manny is a better goaltender than he's shown," Claude Julien said after the morning skate at the Staples Center. "He's shown that he's a No. 1 proven goaltender. We got him here for that reason. He needs to show us that tonight, and he's got the opportunity to do that."

Marc Savard will be a game-time decision, but he skated this morning and said he felt good to go.

* Milan Lucic will play on the third line alongside David Krejci and Phil Kessel. "They're giving me an opportunity, so I've got to make the most of it," said Lucic.

* Bobby Allen (back spasms) didn't skate this morning.

* Pending the decision on Savard, Brandon Bochenski and Jeremy Reich are scheduled to be the healthy scratches.

Lines this morning:

Sturm-Bergeron-Murray
Lucic-Krejci-Kessel
Axelsson-Metropolit-Thornton
