Bruins make deal

Posted by Kevin Paul Dupont, Globe Staff January 2, 2008 05:41 PM

The Bruins, in dire need of defensive help, traded forward Brandon Bochenski today to Anaheim for veteran defenseman Shane Hnidy and a 2008 sixth-round draft pick.

The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Hnidy, 32, will be a $757,000 cap hit for the Bruins. Hnidy is expected to be available for the Bruins Thursday night home game against the Washington Capitals.
