Samsonov expected in Boston

Sergei Samsonov, claimed by Carolina on re-entry waivers from Chicago today, is expected to join the Hurricanes for tonight's match.

"Sergei brings NHL experience to add depth to our forwards," Carolina GM Jim Rutherford said in a statement.

Samsonov, 0-4--4 in 23 games for the Blackhawks this season, was placed on waivers and assigned to Rockford last Wednesday. The ex-Bruin's two-year contract expires this season.
