Thomas to Atlanta

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff January 22, 2008 05:40 PM

Kiley Thomas had a date this weekend to visit New York with her father and do some shopping at FAO Schwarz and American Girl.

Those plans changed today, however, when father Tim was named to the All-Star Game as a replacement for Martin Brodeur. Thomas got a thumbs-up from GM Peter Chiarelli after today's morning skate, indicating that he had gotten the call.

"It feels great," said Thomas, a first-time All-Star. "I was really disappointed when I didn't get named. Now that I have been named, I'm excited."

Thomas leads the league in save percentage (.930) and is eighth in GAA (2.30). Thomas has already told his daughter that there's a nice aquarium in Atlanta.
