Savard to miss next two games

Posted by Kevin Paul Dupont, Globe Staff March 24, 2008 06:22 PM

Bruins center Marc Savard, tied for 12th in the NHL in scoring, will miss the club’s next two games, following a CT scan today at Massachusetts General Hospital that confirmed an unspecified injury to his lower back and mid-torso.

According to team spokesman Matt Chmura, contacted just after 6 p.m., Savard will not be in the lineup tomorrow night in Toronto, nor will he suit up against the Leafs in a rematch Thursday night at the Garden.

Chmura said Savard will undergo another exam later this week, and possibly another CT scan.

  1. And no penalty was assessed on the play - got to love NHL refs.

  1. What's going on with Peter Schaefer? He was suppose to be a 20 goal guy and we haven't seen him play in a while.

  1. If we make the playoffs...This is a big home and home against the Leafs. There are a bunch of teams just waiting for us to drop a few games.
