Ward out

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff March 6, 2008 11:56 AM

Aaron Ward, sidelined by a bruised right foot, didn't skate this morning and will not play tonight. Claude Julien said there's no timetable on Ward. The Bruins will continue to evaluate the defenseman every day.

* Tim Thomas will start tonight. Thomas backed up Alex Auld on Tuesday in Boston's 1-0 overtime loss to Florida.

* Despite the bad luck the Bruins have had with busted feet this season, Shawn Thornton plans to remove the protective flap from his left boot. Thornton broke his foot while blocking a shot and has worn the flap since. Thornton said it came loose on Tuesday and was flapping around too much.

* Toronto enters tonight's match with a 4-1-1 record in the last six games.

Tonight's expected lineup:

Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Metropolit-Kobasew
Schaefer-Krejci-Kessel
Lucic-Sobotka-Thornton

Chara-Wideman
Stuart-Ference
Allen-Hnidy

Thomas
