Development camp finalized

The Bruins' second annual development camp will take place from Tuesday, July 8, through Saturday, July 12 at Ristuccia Arena.

"In 2007 we launched our inaugural development camp and we felt that it was a success," Don Sweeney, director of hockey operations and player development, said in a statement. "Peter Chiarelli and the Bruins organization have made a commitment to build a Stanley Cup contender through the development of our young players, and that philosophy and process will be shared throughout our entire organization. We brought in 28 players last year to give them a clear heads-up as to what they could expect going forward in a professional training camp environment. We also took pride in laying a foundation for these kids to interact away from the ice and get to know potential future teammates."

On-ice sessions will be led by Providence coach Scott Gordon and assistant Rob Murray. Strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides will lead off-ice training. All on-ice sessions will be open to the public. Roster and schedule will be released later.

Last year's participants included David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Vladimir Sobotka, and Tuukka Rask.
