From the looks of it, Pittsburgh was the only team to file for club-elected arbitration with one of its players by yesterday's deadline. Last Friday, the Penguins filed for arbitration with Marc-Andre Fleury, shielding the goalie from offer sheets and preventing the 23-year-old from becoming a restricted free agent on July 1.

Only players who have earned more than $1.5 million total (base salary plus bonuses) in the previous year are eligible for club-elected arbitration. Because of this rule, Dennis Wideman, Mark Stuart, and Petteri Nokelainen were not eligible for club-elected arbitration. Wideman and Stuart are eligible for player arbitration and they are free to file before the July 5 deadline.
