Milbury, NESN close

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff July 23, 2008 09:26 AM

Mike Milbury, who will join CBC's Hockey Night in Canada crew in 2008-09, will most likely continue his NESN duties as well. Negotiations between Milbury and NESN are expected to wrap up next week.

NESN is still searching for a reporter to fill Rob Simpson's slot.

  1. While I do like the old Bruins, and with Cam in the Front Office, and Bucyk being a team secretary, this having Middleton and Milbury, was just a tad too much. Let's remember that the NHL has changed many times over since Middleton and Milbury "laced them up" in the Old Barn on Causeway Street. Rob Simpson, was kinda flat as I was concerned. Why they broke up Dale and Gordie was bad enough, as they were decent (maybe because I live near Dale's old hometown of Richmond, ME), but they made the game exciting, and Dale and Gordie knew what was going on. Also, one other thing is that when I watch a Bruins Game, I want talk about the Bruins (like Fred Cusick/Johnny Pierson), not 90% of the rest of the league, and 10% talk about the Bruins. It reminds me of the Blondes they had with the Bruins back in the mid 1990's, one who wouldn't say anything good about the Bruins, and the other who would talk only about Alexander Daigle as if she had a love affair with the guy. So if they make a change, get someone who knows the Bruins (Muzz would be good example), or bring back Dale or Gordie!
