Around the links, Part 2
From Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, we get an update on old friend Brad Boyes, shipped off to the Blues at the 2006-07 trade deadline for Dennis Wideman.

Last season, Boyes scored a career-best 43 goals and was rewarded with a four-year extension worth an annual $4 million.
COMMENT: Hard to believe that only four guys scored more goals last year than Boyes, one of the nicer guys around the game. Boyes's raise was well-deserved and the Blues need similar production from the winger if they want to make the playoffs this season. That's a lot of offense for the Bruins to have given up, but given the way Dennis Wideman played last year, it's a deal that isn't as lopsided as it once appeared. That is, if BMW (Big Money Wides) continues to develop in 2008-09.

What a surpirse that was last year! Absolutely no sign of that sort of output while he was with the black and gold. Two completely different players. It will be intreresting to see what his production will be this year.
I beleive he was also playing for a contract last year, he got his big deal, now let's see if he can live up to it.
Big Money Wides...nice, haha
