Last month, Tuukka Rask started skating with Ilves, his former team in the Finnish Elite League.

Also on the ice for Ilves at the time was Hannu Toivonen, the ex-Bruin netminder who will play for Rask's old club this season.

Toivonen is still under contract with St. Louis. But with Manny Legace and Chris Mason expected to play net for the Blues, and Ben Bishop and Marek Schwarz looking to develop in Peoria, Toivonen became the odd man out.

"He'll be good for that team," Rask said of Toivonen, who's aiming to reclaim his game in Finland, then return to the NHL.
