MacIntyre claimed

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff September 30, 2008 02:08 PM

Former P-Bruins tough guy Steve MacIntyre has been claimed off waivers by Edmonton.

MacIntyre, who signed a two-year, two-way deal with Florida during the offseason, was widely considered the toughest fighter in the AHL last season.

* Johnny Boychuk, Mike Egener, and Ryan Stokes have cleared waivers. All three are expected to start the AHL season in Providence.

  1. Congrats Big Mac, you'll finally be playing in the NHL! We'll miss you in Provi but I'm excited for the beginning of Scott Fletcher's pro career, he could become a good one.

  1. How many Points do you think Martin St Pierre will put up for Providence and who do you think will be on his line.
