No camp for Ostrcil

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff September 5, 2008 04:26 PM

According to the preseason roster, D Radim Ostrcil, Boston's sixth-round pick in the 2007 draft, will not attend training camp.

The 19-year-old Ostrcil, projected to be a puck-moving defenseman, played for Ottawa (OHL) last season, scoring 13 assists in 59 games.

ANALYSIS: That Ostrcil won't be present signals that the Bruins might not sign the 6-foot defenseman. Ostrcil is not on the 67's 2008-09 roster (the last year for legendary coach Brian Kilrea) and will most likely play in the Czech Republic this season. The Bruins must sign Ostrcil by next June, but it's looking like he'll become a free agent.
