Marco Sturm batted in a backhand shovel by Patrice Bergeron at 1:06 to give the Bruins the advantage. Phil Kessel started the play by attacking the Ottawa defense with speed, forcing Filip Kuba and Jason Smith to backtrack.

* Heavy open-ice collision between Shawn Thornton, Jarkko Ruutu, and Shean Donovan. All players were fine after the hit.

* Nice play by Vladimir Sobotka to muscle Mike Fisher off the puck deep in the Ottawa zone.
